1st day of preschool

Here he is, about to start quite the adventure...

I swear we don't abuse her

But you wouldn't know it with all the bumps and brusies she constantly has. Two Saturdays ago Isabelle was standing in our family room when Jackson tried to hug her and she fell over and smacked her head on the bannister. Within seconds she had a huge knot/bruise on her head; since then she's also fallen into the tv (fat lip), & been sick now for about a week (hacking horrible cough and constant snotty runny nose). Hopefully by the big day next week, she'll be all better-my fingers are crossed!

I guess she didn't get the memo...

Somebody at our house is pretty convinced she's a big girl. She's trying really hard to walk (and doing a pretty good job, taking more and more steps every day), is only interested in playing with Jackson's big boy toys, and has refused her nighttime bottle for 3 nights in a row (something I was so sure I wouldn't miss when it happened, but now feel a little sad about).

Don't grow up too fast, baby girl:) Like I tell Jackson all the time, you may not be a baby anymore, but you'll always be my baby.

Gotta go, my baby is up on the fireplace having a tea party. Did I mention she's a bit of a climber too?

Just because

Who, me? I'm adorable?

Duh!

She wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny blue polka dot bikini

This is the first and last time she'll be wearing this suit. I waited awhile to put this one on because the water was so cold; but apparently I waited too long because now the top part is too small. It's too bad because it was adorable:) Notice her feet in the bottom picture...

Swimsuit #3

I'm just getting started people!

Notice the toes? She's my tiny dancer (who's not that tiny)

Swimsuit #2

This was the conversation Patrick and I had about this swimsuit:

Patrick: But her belly is hanging out.

Me: So?

Patrick: It's big

Me: At what other point in your life can you let your gut hang out and people think it's cute? Do people think you're cute when your swimsuit is on?

Patrick: (I think he used some sign language at this point; maybe this blog isn't as G rated as I thought!)

ATL trip

When I heard that The Schnizlers were going to be in Atlanta for Becky's 5oth birthday in July, staying with Ron & Cathe and hanging out with Joe, Julie, & the kids at a big birthday bash, my first thought was How can I get there without taking any kids? Just kidding (sort of); after a lot of discussion with my wonderful husband & mother, who co-babysat Isabelle while I was gone, and a lot of # crunching on whether or not we could afford it (apparently, if you wait long enough to get your tickets, the prices do actually drop; if you stalk Expedia for at least 72 hours that is) Jackson, Dad and I were on our way to Atlanta. Of course, no trip is complete without at least a few delays at the airport (for me anyway; apparently this does not happen to everyone as I could tell from all the pissed off people on the plane) but we finally got there late Thursday night.

We had the greatest time ever; nothing but fun, family, food, and margaritas-just the way I like it! I didn't take a lot of pictures, mostly because I figured Becky and Cathe & Jen & Anna & I think Julie had it covered & would kindly put their pics online (really it's because I'm lazy). But I did get a few good ones.

We had an absolutely wonderful time, I was so sad to leave everyone and was already trying to figure out how we can all get together again next year-Sunset Beach (or wherever) Summer 2010, baby! And to Ron, Cathe, Becky, Gregg, Jen, Robbie, Anna, Joe, Julie, Brett, Nick, & Emily-I love you all so much, I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful family. We miss you all terribly and can't wait till next year when the rest of my little family can hopefully join us & we can have a whole week of fun, family, food & margaraitas!

By the way, I'm having major margarita withdrawal; Ron, Cathe, can one of you guys come over tomorrow night and make me a pitcher? Thanks, love ya!

P.S. I would put up some memorable quotes from the trip, but so far this is a G rated blog; I don't want to frighten anyone;)

First swim (and swimsuit) of the summer

Thanks for letting me swim in your pool Nana & Papa, it was tons of fun!

It was a little cold at first, but I got used to it pretty fast.

Now if only someone would hand me a Kleenex...

*Editor's Note: The big joke around here is how many swimsuits we have for Isabelle. Some have been given to us, some we have bought (ok, most I have bought; I just can't help myself). I'll try to take a picture of each one and post it. This one was on sale at the Gap and has a matching pink ruffle on the backside. Swim lessons start tomorrow, so wish us luck!

More Thomas pics

This picture cracks me up; I think this was right before he almost broke his neck (well, that part wasn't funny).

Charlie said forget the slide, I just wanna bounce!

Remember in my last post I mentioned the train whistle? This is what he looked like almost the entire ride. He looks pretty happy here, but there were many tears shed-we're lucky he doesn't have Thomas Trauma!

Charlie's new friend (who looked like he wanted to have Charlie's cute little fingers for lunch!)

A Day Out With Thomas

All the boys with Thomas

Charlie and Jackson take train play very seriously; in fact, Jackson was so serious that whenever Uncle Jeremy tried to take his picture he shot him death looks!

How cute are these two? They were both wonderful and had a great time. If only we hadn't sat right next to the whistle on the train...

Turkey Creek Festival

On Saturday we took the kids to the annual Turkey Creek Festival. They've got pony and train rides, a petting zoo, lots of food and music, and most of it's free (my favorite part). They had a great time; well, Jackson had a great time, and Isabelle had a great time watching him;)

Our two little nuts

When he got on the horse, Jackson said "Now I'm a real cowboy."
I have no idea where he gets this stuff.

Our family (almost); somebody has to take the pictures!
